The reveal

Visible to everyone
Photo public from day one. Maximum transparency. Good if you've done the swipe rounds and just want it over with.
Reveal after approval
Photo shows only after you both say yes. The default. Most people pick this. It's the polite version of what you already wanted.
Auto-reveal after 3 days
Voice and avatar for the first 72 hours of chat. Then photos appear. Build rapport first; the face arrives when it's earned anyway.
Honest answers

The questions you're actually asking.

"Is this a dating app?"
No. People meet for whatever they meet for: friends, dates, conversation, an evening that doesn't suck. The point is the meeting, not the matching.
"Why no photos at first?"
Because attraction is already a tax on the rest of you. Voice carries personality faster than a photo carries chemistry. You'll see (pun intended).
"Is it safe?"
You walk away whenever you want. That's the whole UX. Block, mute, leave. There are mods. There are appeals. Adults only, eighteen and over.
"What does it cost?"
Free. There's no premium tier, no unlock, no "pay to be seen". If that ever changes, the people who showed up first won't be the ones paying.
